- HOW IT'S PLAYED -

One by one, participants are asked to spell a word. If they get it right, they make it through to the next round. If they get it wrong, they must striptease an item of clothing off, and that is considered their first "strike". When they misspell a second word, that is their second strike and they must striptease two items off. A third and final strike requires the striptease of three items.

After three strikes, a participant is out of the competition. However, at this time, they may choose to "save" themselves and remain in competition by taking one additional item off. From there on in, any misspelled words requires the removal of only one item.

Once a participant is completely naked, they are well and truly out of the competition. But they should take heart – because while they may have lost, the audience has, almost certainly, won.

The winner of the Bee takes home $50.

All striptease spellers get a free drink.

Anyone, at any time, can drop out of

the competition, at any stage of undress.

Small Print:

An "item of clothing" can be any of the following: sweaters, hoodys, jackets, shirts, blouses, bras, t-shirts, tank tops, cardigans, gloves (pair), shoes (pair), underwear, garter belt, socks (pair), filmy stockings (one), pantyhose, legwarmers (pair), shapewear, jeans, pants, leggings. Any other item not mentioned in this list is at the discretion of the moderator.

These items are disqualified as clothing: eyeglasses, contact lenses, piercings of any sort, earrings, any kind of jewelery, headscarves, barettes, hairclips, scarves, necklaces, bracelets, purses, manbags, fanny-packs.

Additionally, if a participant has "stacked the deck" so to speak, in their favour at the start of the competition by wearing an excess of clothing, the moderator can demand that they take some off prior to the start of the Bee, to create a more equitable starting lineup.

This is a queer, senior, & trans-person friendly event. Our goal is to make everyone feel safe, secure and comfortable enough to strip and spell. Anyone who serves to disrupt or otherwise endanger this goal will be promptly ejected from the premises & fucked up. Thank you for your co-operation. We hope you have a great time!
